The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law obliging benefit categories of citizens to allocate monthly funds from the benefits paid to pay for consumed housing and communal services.
The conditions for providing benefits in the absence of payment for consumed services using benefits will be determined in the manner established by the Cabinet of Ministers, writes League.
Unlike subsidies, the legislation does not have provisions for taking into account the fact of arrears in payment for housing and communal services when providing benefits.
At the beginning of August 2024, the total amount of debt of citizens who are provided with benefits for paying for housing and communal services amounted to UAH 732.9 million.
This is precisely the situation that the bill aims to correct.
