Russia announced military training for citizens in the reserves. The corresponding decree was signed by dictator Vladimir Putin on Thursday, January 16. As reported by the Moscow Times, winter military training in the Russian Federation will be held for the first time in 20 years.
The text of the decree has been published on the legal information portal and will take effect immediately. The document contains two classified items marked “for official use.”
The publication writes that the Kremlin leader probably decided to classify the time of the meeting and the number of reservists who will take part in them.
For the last 20 years, military training in the Russian Federation has been held in the spring or summer. Last year, Putin signed the decree on the bills on March 1, 2023 – May 10, 2022 and 2021 – April 26, 2020 – June 29.
The 2019 training camp was announced at the end of February, and was held in March, and from 2004 to 2018, the training camp started in March-June.
In January, Putin announced the 2003 fees: the corresponding decree was signed on December 29, 2022. The collections of 2001-2002 were carried out similarly: the decree was issued on one of the last days of the previous year. Putin announced the 2000 training camp on January 27.
We remind you that on Thursday Putin also ordered to increase the staff level of the Russian army by 180 thousand people – up to 2 million 389 thousand people. The last time Putin increased the size of the Russian army was in December 2023. Then it increased by 170 thousand people.
