The Kremlin is making Belarus a strategic partner that helps Russia spread its power around the world.
Russia’s attempts to de facto annex Belarus create strategic risks for the United States, NATO and Ukraine. This was said by specialists from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
“Moscow’s efforts to de facto annex Belarus within the framework of a union state, although not completed, have already achieved significant successes, requiring NATO to re-evaluate the consequences of increasing Russian control over Belarus, as well as the capabilities and resources available to Russia against the United States, NATO and Ukraine as a result,” the message said.
Belarus is not only an ally of Russia, the Kremlin makes it a strategic partner that helps Russia project its power around the world.
“Politicians should start planning for a future in which Belarus will not only be a slave country, but actually a continuation of the Russian Federation,” experts believe.
Three main areas of the Kremlin’s efforts are aimed at military, political and economic integration of Russia and Belarus.
According to analysts, although Russia has not completed its attempt to de facto annex Belarus, it has reached such stages that it poses a threat to the security of the United States, NATO and Ukraine, as well as a threat to the continued existence of Belarus . as a sovereign state.
We remind you that the head of the Central Election Commission of the Security Council, Igor Karpenko, said that Belarus will not open voting stations abroad due to the “lack of proper security measures.”
