Opposition parties in Slovakia have initiated a vote of no confidence in Robert Fico’s government. The proposal has been submitted to parliament. Aktuality reported this on Wednesday, January 15.
On January 15, representatives of the opposition parties gave signatures to the office of the National Council of Slovakia for the convening of an extraordinary meeting of the parliament, where they wanted to express no confidence in the Fico government.
The vote of no confidence was initiated by the opposition representatives from the parties Progressive Slovakia, Freedom and Unity, Christian Democrats, Slovakia, For the People And Christian Union.
According to the opposition, Prime Minister Fico is unable to cope with the tasks facing the government and is trying to question the course of the country’s politics.
“Robert Fico left Slovakia. Instead of staying at home and solving people’s problems, he travels the world, bows to dictators, enjoys luxury somewhere in Vietnam. He insults our neighbors and partners… We will not let Fico Slovakia turn around”, – noted the leader Progressive Slovakia Michal Szymeczko.
The opposition also criticized the coalition parties for not attending an extraordinary meeting of the parliament to confirm Slovakia’s foreign policy orientation. Without them, the opposition does not have enough votes to open the meeting.
Let’s recall that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico warned the coalition partners about the possibility of early elections due to the ongoing political crisis.
