The opposition says Prime Minister Fico is not up to the task facing the government and is trying to question the country’s political course.
In Slovakia, pro-Western opposition parties are close to initiating a vote of no confidence in Robert Fico’s government. This was reported by TASR.
It was noted that the opposition representatives from the parties Progressive Slovakia, Freedom and Solidarity, Christian Democrats, Slovakia, For the People and the Christian Union will start a vote of no confidence in the Fico government in the next few days, which they announced in a press conference on January 14.
As the opposition said, Prime Minister Fico is unable to cope with the tasks facing the government and is trying to question the country’s political course.
“Robert Fico left Slovakia. Instead of staying at home and solving people’s problems, he travels the world, bows to dictators, lives in luxury somewhere in Vietnam. He insults our neighbors and partner… We will not allow Fico to turn Slovakia to the East”, said the head of Progressive Slovakia, Michal Šimečka, as quoted by Aktuality.
Šimečka added that the reason for their initiative was not only Fico’s scandalous trip to Moscow and meeting with Putin.
“There are many reasons for the 14 years that Robert Fico led the country, he caused so much damage that he could not count in ten hours,” he said.
The opposition also criticized the coalition parties for not attending an extraordinary meeting of parliament to confirm Slovakia’s foreign policy. Without them, the opposition does not have enough votes to open the meeting.
Let’s recall that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico warned the coalition partners about the possibility of early elections due to the ongoing political crisis.
