The President of Serbia said that Baku, despite force majeure, will not stop gas supplies.
Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Serbia will not be suspended. This is what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said, Trend.az reported on Sunday, January 12.
“Our brothers and friends from Azerbaijan informed me that, despite the objective problems caused by force majeure, gas supplies to Serbia will not be suspended,” said Vucic.
He also thanked Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev, whom he hopes to visit in Belgrade.
The previous day, Vucic reported that gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Serbia were suspended indefinitely due to force majeure.
Let’s remember that in 2023, Serbia signed an agreement with Azerbaijan on the purchase of 400 million cubic meters of gas per year from 2024. In total, Serbia needs more than 3 billion cubic meters per year. The rest of the gas comes from Russia.
