In PMR, 51.5 thousand subscribers in rural areas, more than 20 thousand private households in cities, 1.8 thousand legal entities and entrepreneurs were left without gas.
In unrecognized Transnistria, the state of economic emergency was extended until February 8. This decision was made due to the cessation of Russian gas supplies, which led to large-scale consumer losses and the threat of economic stagnation . The corresponding decision was made by the so-called parliament of unrecognized Transnistria on Friday, January 10
The deputies explained that such a step was taken “to avoid a critical level of production, stagnant underutilization of production capacities, uncontrolled development of the stagflationary process, disturbances in the monetary and monetary spheres that weaken the economy.”
Among other things, the emergency regime provides for a ban on the export of all energy sources, except for the export of electricity, while maintaining natural gas supplies in the PMR. For its part, on the right bank of Moldova, the parliament introduced a state of emergency for 60 days from December 16.
In PMR, 51.5 thousand subscribers in rural areas, more than 20 thousand private households in cities, 1.8 thousand legal entities and entrepreneurs were left without gas. Currently, gas is available in 17 social facilities, 79 retail establishments, and hundreds of catering establishments.
We remind you that the self-proclaimed Transnistrian Moldavian Republic (PMR) did not take advantage of Moldova’s offer to buy gas from Europe.
As you know, on January 1, Ukraine suspended Russian gas transit. The contract with Gazprom has expired. As a result, gas supplies to Transnistria (left bank) via Moldova (right bank) were also stopped. The buyer of gas from Gazprom is its subsidiary in Moldova, which sends the entire volume of purchased fuel to Transnistria.
Right Bank Moldova has been buying gas for domestic needs from European suppliers for several years. And Transnistria was left without gas, heat and hot water. It was also learned yesterday that the “republic” refused gas from Europe. They still rely on Russia.
