British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will visit Ukraine “in the coming weeks” to discuss the possibility of deploying international peacekeeping forces on its territory after the end of the war with Russia. Bloomberg reported this on Friday, January 10.

The agency recalls that this initiative was proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron. Today, he and Starmer reaffirmed their strong support for Ukraine during their meeting, and also discussed the importance of ensuring that our country is in as strong a position as possible by 2025.
“In addition, the potential for joint peacekeeping forces in Ukraine was discussed, according to a source familiar with the matter it depends on the peace agreement that Ukraine and Russia have concluded between themselves and which Vladimir Putin is has not yet expressed a desire to discuss,” the publication said.
According to the agency, a possible peacekeeping mission will be launched in the next phase of negotiations, after a ceasefire is reached, to avoid the risk of escalation.
