Result 01/08: Zaporozhye attack and fire in the Russian Federation

Russian aggressors bombed industrial infrastructure in Zaporozhye, killing 13 people and injuring 63 others. As a result of the enemy attack, multi-storey buildings, industrial facilities and other infrastructure of the city were destroyed. Debris hit a tram and a minibus with passengers. Parked vehicles were damaged. Local authorities released photos showing the aftermath of the impact – burning and wrecked cars, injured people lying on the asphalt strewn with debris. The city mourns.

On Wednesday night, drones hit a Russian oil base in the city of Engels, Saratov region. About 40 explosions were heard in the city and a huge fire started. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine acknowledged the attack and noted that we are talking about the storage base of oil products at the Kristall Combine. It supplied fuel to the Engels-2 military airfield, where Russian strategic aviation is based. “The defeat of the oil depot creates a serious logistical problem for the strategic flight of Russian invaders and significantly reduces their ability to strike peaceful cities and civilian targets of Ukraine,” added the General Staff. The Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Mikhail Drapaty, reported to President Vladimir Zelensky about the situation in the 155th Anna Kievskaya Mechanized Infantry Brigade, which was prepared by France. He admitted that during the generation of the new brigade there was poor management, mistakes during recruitment, imperfect training planning and a late response from the senior command to problems. The Ukrainian military hit the command post of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.
