Donald Trump’s chosen special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, said he wants to resolve the war in Ukraine within 100 days of his inauguration.
People need to understand: he (Trump – ed.) is not trying to give something to Putin or the Russians, he is really trying to save the sovereignty of Ukraine and guarantee. And he will ensure that this is fair and honest,” the special representative said on Fox News.
He believes that Trump will be able to offer an acceptable solution to Putin and Vladimir Zelensky “in the short term.”
I would like to set a goal, both on a personal and professional level, I would say let’s set it at one hundred days, he said.
Kellogg emphasized that Trump and his team are aware of the limited time to find a solution.
He also criticized the Joe Biden administration for refusing to negotiate with Putin.
According to Kellogg, Trump intends to conduct a dialogue with the Russian leader in order to offer a compromise acceptable to both Ukraine and Russia.
My goal is to find a solution on a short-term basis, and I believe that 100 days will be enough,” Kellogg added.
Previously, newly elected US President Donald Trump repeatedly stated during his election campaign that he would end the war after re-election even before he re-entered the White House. He then changed his rhetoric and began declaring that he would stop the war within 24 hours of taking office.
On January 7, during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence to celebrate Congress’ certification of his election victory, Trump said he hoped to end the war within six months.
