Large-scale forest fires have engulfed the city of Los Angeles in California.
According to Voice of America, the forest is burning, and the flames have also spread to several residential areas and suburbs. The disaster destroys an area of at least 5,500 acres (2,225 hectares) in the north and northeast of the city.
A total of four fires were recorded.
Actor James Woods posted a video on social networks of a fire near his home, which he and his family were forced to leave.

The actor posted a terrifying video of a fire in his vicinity online and announced the evacuation of children from several elementary schools.
We are fortunate that the Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments do their jobs so well. We’re safe. There are several elementary schools in our area, and the community made a huge effort to evacuate the children safely,” Woods wrote online.

Palisades Charter High School, which was used as a location for Hollywood films, including the 1976 horror film Carrey, partially burned down. Due to the fire at the film studio, two film premieres were also canceled.
The roads became impassable due to the large influx of people. Many residents simply left their cars in the middle of the street.
As of January 8, more than 240,000 households are without power in Los Angeles County, according to the website PowerOutage.us.
