Russian saboteurs blew up the railway track in front of the Ukrzaliznytsia train.
Law enforcement officers neutralized a sabotage group of the Russian FSB in the Khmelnitsky region. Two intruders blew up a track at a local railroad race where a freight train was moving. For the explosion, the attackers used a homemade remote-controlled explosive device filled with TNT and plastid. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The saboteurs planted explosives under the railway rails and activated them as the locomotive approached. They recorded the undermining of the path on camera.
As a result of the incident, no one was injured, and the driver managed to stop the train in time. After the railway track was repaired, the train with cargo continued moving.
SBU and National Police operatives detained both attackers. During the search, explosive elements and mobile phones with evidence of sabotage were confiscated from them.
The attackers turned out to be two residents of the Khmelnitsky region, aged 28 and 29 years. One of them has a drug addiction, and the other is a military man who left his military unit without permission. Both have already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 113 (sabotage committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us recall that large-scale sabotage at Ukrzaliznytsia facilities was planned to be carried out by the Russian GRU intelligence network – the attackers were planning a series of explosions of railway tracks, due to which weapons and equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are supplied to the front. The saboteurs were exposed and neutralized by the counterintelligence of the SBU.
