Donald Trump, the US President-elect, hopes that Russia’s war against Ukraine can be completed in six months.
He stated this at a press conference at his residence in Mar-a-Lago on the occasion of Congress’ approval of his victory in the elections, the Ukrinform agency reports.
“I hope within six months,” he said in response to questions from journalists about the possible time frame for ending the war.
Trump emphasized that both the Russian Federation and Ukraine continue to lose many people. He also once again stated that if he were president, “this war would never have happened.”
In addition, Trump noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to meet with him, and this meeting, according to him, could take place after the inauguration, scheduled for January 20.
“I don’t think it would be appropriate to meet before January 20,” Trump said.
Let us remember that during the election campaign in the United States, Trump boasted that he managed to conclude a peace agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in 24 hours.
