A minibus driver hit a 14-year-old Ukrainian at a pedestrian crossing in the Polish capital of Warsaw. After that, the man fled the scene of the traffic accident. This was reported on Monday, December 6, by the Warsaw police and Radio Liberty, citing the spokesman of the prosecutor’s office.
The man was first helped by a random passer-by – a military man. The victim was taken to the hospital, but as a result of serious head and chest injuries, the man died at the hospital.
The Warsaw district prosecutor’s office said the dead boy was a 14-year-old Ukrainian.
The spokesman of the district prosecutor’s office in Warsaw, Piotr Skiba, said that the car was driven by a 43-year-old Polish citizen.
“After the crime, the suspect hid the minibus around Warsaw. There he drank alcohol with one of the family members,” said Skiba.
A suspect is in custody in the fatal hit-and-run of a boy. At the time of his arrest, the man was drunk and had about two ppm of alcohol in his system.
It is known about him that he worked for one of the courier companies in Warsaw.
According to the prosecutor’s office, he already has convictions, including drug possession, as well as helping aliens cross the border illegally.
The driver was charged with two articles – causing a fatal accident and fleeing the scene of an accident, which is punishable by imprisonment for 5 to 20 years.
Earlier in Warsaw, a car driver attacked a Ukrainian woman and insulted her on ethnic grounds.
It was reported that a young Ukrainian girl was brutally raped in the center of Warsaw, and passers-by who saw the crime did not react.
