An Air Canada Express plane made a hard landing in Halifax due to a landing gear problem.
Fox Business writes about this on the morning of January 7.
The incident occurred around 21:30 on December 28. Flight 2259 arrived from St. John’s in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador to Halifax-Stanfield Airport in the province of Nova Scotia, the material says.
One of the plane’s passengers, Aiden O’Callaghan, told reporters that the plane skidded on the runway. Another passenger, Nikki Valentine, added that people in the cabin heard a sound “like a car accident” and the wing of the plane, along with the engine, began to slide on the concrete.
An airline spokesperson subsequently confirmed to CBC News that the plane suffered a suspected landing gear problem after landing.
There were 73 passengers on the plane, the number of crew members is still unknown. An hour after landing, the airport reported that all passengers had left the plane.
There were no fatalities as a result of the hard landing; passengers suffered minor injuries. In particular, O’Callaghan complained of a concussion and bruises.
