Power steering hackers attacked the Russian company RegionTransService.
The cyber attack was carried out on Saturday, January 4, the birthday of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov. All the company’s servers were destroyed, workstations were disabled and backups were erased. A total of 78 servers and 211 workstations were affected. This was reported by the Babel publication, citing sources.
It is noted that RegionTransService LLC is one of the key companies ensuring the activities of the Russian railway, and therefore the transportation of military cargo for the war against Ukraine. This company provides a full range of services at all stages of the car’s life cycle: from acceptance of new cars at the manufacturing plant to disposal.
Let us recall that in October last year, the Ukrainian military intelligence cyber corps carried out an attack on the IT infrastructure of the national operator of the mobile satellite communications system Morsvyazsputnik. The Russian state system for controlling the movement of maritime transport was also dealt a blow.
