A massive attack by Russian drones was repelled by Ukrainian air defense today.
On the night of January 2, the enemy attacked with 72 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and drones of other types in the directions of Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation. The enemy attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The air force announced this on January 2 on Telegram.
As of 8:30, the beating of 47 attack drones was confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkov, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Kherson and Nikolaev regions.
Another 24 enemy drones were locally lost as a result of active counteraction. Another UAV is still in the air.
Let us recall that on January 1, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 111 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones. 63 drones were confirmed shot down, and 46 enemy drones were locally lost without negative consequences.
