The Kyiv city military administration received a new leader.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on Tuesday, December 31, dismissed Serhiy Popok from this post. He appointed Timur Tkachenko as head of the KMVA.
Previously, Tkachenko was Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries. Before that, he was the director of the Department of Urban Improvement of the Kyiv City State Administration.
Sergei Popko has headed the KMVA since October 2022. Before that, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At one time, he headed the Main Command Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was the commander of the Ground Forces, and the chief inspector of the Ministry of Defense. He has the military rank of Colonel General.
Let us recall that on December 31, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Philip Pronin as head of the State Financial Monitoring Service, and Ruslan Kravchenko as head of the State Tax Service. The day before, Pronin was fired from the post of head of the Poltava Military Administration, and Kravchenko – of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
