The ETA-IL electronic permit costs seven dollars per person; it is valid for up to two years or until the expiry date of your current passport.
Israel introduced the paid electronic entry permit ETA-IL for tourists. They will be required to enter the country from January 1, 2025. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
The ETA-IL permit is an electronic travel permit that costs 25 shekels ($7) per person. An application for such a permit must be submitted separately for each visitor.
The ETA-IL is valid for up to two years or until the expiry date of the traveler’s current passport, whichever comes first.
ETA-IL allows you to stay in Israel for up to 90 days. If a tourist wishes to stay in the country longer, he must submit a request for an extension of stay to the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority.
To submit an application, you will need to indicate online:
-
personal details including full name, date of birth and nationality;
-
travel information, including reason for visit and dates of stay;
-
passport details.
You will also need to provide a clear photo of yourself when submitting your application.
People with dual citizenship, one of which is Israeli, will be able to travel to Israel with their passports until December 31, 2025, after which they will need an ETA-IL.
Tourists must apply several weeks before their planned visit and have a passport valid for at least six months. However, even such a permit does not guarantee entry into the country.
We remind you that Israel’s national air carrier El Al has suspended flights to Russia. The decision was made after the plane crash in Kazakhstan.
