Gas transportation tariffs for domestic consumers in Ukraine will increase fourfold.
Such decisions were made at a meeting on December 30 by the National Energy Regulatory Commission in connection with the termination of the transit of Russian gas, the meeting of which was broadcast on YouTube.
General Director of the Ukrainian GTS operator Dmitry Lippa said that in 2024, 85% of income came from the transportation of gas originating from Russia.
That is, 15% is what remains for us from internal customers. The tariff increase is not enough for full compensation, but we agree, we understand that the Ukrainian economy needs balanced decisions,” he noted.
According to the official, the Ukrainian operator, for its part, has taken all measures to reduce costs: compressor stations are closed and mothballed, the number of personnel and costs are optimized.
The decision of NEURC provides that the tariff for the transportation of natural gas increases from 124.16 to 501.97 UAH per 1 thousand cubic meters. m or almost 305%.
Let us recall that the media reported that due to the cessation of transit of Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system in 2025, Ukraine is proposing to quadruple the tariff for transporting the resource for domestic recipients of the service.
