El Al Airlines is suspending all its flights on the Tel Aviv – Moscow route until the end of the winter schedule.
The Israeli airline El Al has suspended flights from Tel Aviv to Moscow until the end of March 2025. This decision was made after reviewing the situation and the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Kazakhstan, writes The Times of Israel .
“After conducting a comprehensive assessment of the situation, El Al has suspended all its flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route until the end of the winter schedule,” the company said.
We remind you that on December 26, El Al airline announced that it suspended flights to Russia for a week. The decision was made after the plane crash of an Azerbaijan Arilines plane in Kazakhstan.
As you know, on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in Kazakhstan on a Baku-Grozny flight. 38 people were killed, mostly citizens of Azerbaijan.
Later, the media reported that the plane was attacked on approach to Grozny by a missile from the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft complex. After that, the Russians banned the crew from landing at Russian airfields and jammed electronic warfare communications.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has apologized for the “tragic incident in Russian airspace.”
