Belarusian authorities recommend the use of Russian New Year traditions at all levels of the education system.
Belarusian authorities have banned Santa Claus, New Year’s songs in English, and carols in schools, recommending adherence to Russian New Year’s traditions. This was reported by Polish Radio.
A special order was issued for schools regarding the repertoire of New Year holidays in educational institutions.
Traditional Christmas carols were banned, as were English-language carols and Western tunes such as Jingle Bells. The presence of Santa Claus (St. Nicholas in the English version – ed.), as well as Christmas tree decorations that may be associated with Western traditions, are prohibited during school holidays.
Instead, the authorities recommend the use of Russian New Year traditions at all levels of the education system in Belarus.
In recent years, Valentine’s Day and Halloween celebrations have been banned in Belarus.
We remind you that in Russia they released a video where an air defense fighter shot Santa Claus’ team with a rocket, and this action was approved by Santa Claus.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office was asked to recognize the Santa Claus brand as a foreign agent.
