Kazakhstan, which is investigating the crash, has agreed with Azerbaijan and Russia to send the black boxes to the country that made the plane.
Kazakhstan will send the flight recorders of the Azerbaijani plane that crashed near Aktau to Brazil, the country that made the airliner, for decoding. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.
“In accordance with the standards of Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention, the state conducting the investigation ensures that the flight recorders are readable and decides on the selection of the country that will read and decrypt the black boxes,” the statement said.
It has already been mentioned in this regard, as well as taking into account ICAO recommendations and consultations with the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia, the Air Accident Investigation Commission, headed by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev , decided to transfer the flight recorders to the Center for Investigation of the Prevention of Aviation Accidents of Brazil (CENIPA ).
As you know, on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan, killing 38 people. A total of 67 people were on board, mostly Azerbaijani citizens.
Later, the media reported that the plane was attacked on approach to Grozny by a missile from the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft complex.
