Citizens of the Russian Federation and stateless persons permanently residing in the Russian Federation, who arrive in the Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa, cannot stay in the country for more than 90 days within a calendar year.
The Government of Azerbaijan has introduced changes in the periods of temporary stay of Russian citizens in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan from January 1, 2025. This was stated in the order of the government of Azerbaijan on Sunday, December 29.
According to the resolution, “citizens of the Russian Federation and stateless persons permanently residing in the Russian Federation, arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa, cannot stay in the country for more than 90 days within a year of calendar.”
Yesterday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced that Baku will introduce mirror measures in response to the new rules established by the Russian side and the tightening of requirements for the duration of stay in the Russian Federation.
From January 1, 2025, foreigners arriving in Russia without a visa can stay in the country for no more than 90 days in a calendar year.
In the past, Azerbaijan refused aid from Chechnya.
