Compensation must be paid to Azerbaijan and the injured passengers and crew, the president stressed.
On December 27, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev demanded an apology and admission of guilt from Russia for the downing of an Azerbaijan Arilines passenger plane in Kazakhstan. He said this in an interview with Caliber on Sunday, December 29.
“What are they? First, the Russian side must apologize to Azerbaijan. Second, it must admit their guilt. Third, it must be punished, prosecuted, and Azerbaijan, the injured passengers and crew must be compensated by compensation. These are our conditions,” Aliyev said.
According to the President of Azerbaijan, the first of the requirements was fulfilled yesterday.
“I hope that our other conditions are fair, all these conditions have no extraordinary demands or issues here that are based on international experience and the principles of normal human behavior.
Let’s remember that, according to Aliyev, Russia wants to “silence” the issue of the causes of the accident of the Azerbaijani plane in Kazakh Aktau.
As you know, on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed in Kazakhstan on a Baku-Grozny flight. 38 people were killed, mostly citizens of Azerbaijan.
Later, the media reported that the plane was attacked on approach to Grozny by a missile from the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft complex. After that, the Russians banned the crew from landing at Russian airports.
