President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, in his evening video message today, December 28, said that he had conversations with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal and Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
I heard details of the import of electricity from the European Union to Ukraine through Slovakia – about 19% of the total volume. We are working with other neighbors in the EU, he noted, commenting on the threats of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to stop the supply of electricity.
According to Zelensky, he instructed government officials to do everything together with the European Commission and all Ukraine’s partners in Europe to maintain the stability of the unified European energy system and European energy rules.
No matter what Fico said when he was in the Kremlin, European rules must be stronger than the connections of this or that character with Moscow,” he emphasized.
