In occupied Crimea, the so-called “parliament” supported the introduction of a ban on “encouraging pregnant women to have abortions” and the introduction of fines for such actions.
Russian media report this.
It is reported that the fine for “inducing a pregnant woman to have an abortion by persuasion, bribery, blackmail, using the official dependence of a pregnant woman in the performance of her labor duties” for citizens will be from 3 to 5 thousand Russian rubles, for officials – from 25 to 50 thousand . rubles, for legal entities – from 200 to 500 thousand rubles.
According to representatives of the occupation administration, such actions are aimed at “tightening the protection of family rights.”
The issue of limiting the possibility of abortion in Russia and the occupied territories has been discussed since 2023. In addition to the occupied Crimea, laws banning “inducement to abortion” have also been adopted in a number of regions of Russia, in particular in Komi, Mordovia, Trans-Baikal and Primorsky territories, Vologda, Kaliningrad and Kurgan regions.
The occupation administration of Crimea also previously stated that private clinics on the peninsula voluntarily refused to provide abortion services.
