American specialists prepared a group of Ukrainian military personnel for the use of these combat drones within a few days.

The United States sent a batch of Switchblade tactical unmanned aerial systems to Ukraine by the American company AeroVironment. This was announced by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby at a briefing on Wednesday, April 6th.

“We have already shipped 100 Switchblade drones from our stocks. They are close to Ukraine, if they have not been delivered now,” the spokesperson said.

At the same time, he noted that American specialists have prepared a group of Ukrainian military personnel who have been in the United States since the autumn for the use of these combat drones for several days.

“Soon they will be able to go home and train other Ukrainian soldiers about it,” Kirby said.

Switchblades are robotic smart bombs equipped with a motor, camera, targeting system and warhead. They can be programmed to independently attack objects many kilometers away, they can barrage around targets until the right moment comes to strike. This weapon is disposable, hence the nickname “kamikaze drone”.

Recall that earlier the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, in a conversation with Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, promised to provide Kiev with the drones he requested, Javelin anti-tank missile system and Stinger man-portable air defense system in the amount of $ 300 million.
