The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, December 22 – the Day of the Diplomatic Service of Ukraine – presented a special online portal “Diplomatic e-Archive”.
The project was developed with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and funding from the Japanese government. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The portal has collected unique diplomatic documents that tell visitors about the history of the Ukrainian diplomatic service, the activities of Ukrainian diplomatic missions and consular offices, foreign missions accredited in the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the Ukrainian State, the Ukrainian SSR and independent Ukraine, the message says.
The department notes that the diplomatic e-Archive plays an important role in countering disinformation and historical manipulation, and is also important for restoring the historical truth about the Ukrainian state-creative tradition and the history of Ukrainian diplomacy.
A strong diplomatic service is an integral attribute of a strong, strong state. One of the elements of today’s celebrations is the opening of the virtual diplomatic archive. In order to have strong diplomacy of a strong state, a member of the EU and NATO, a prosperous country, our diplomatic service must be based on tradition. And we have these hundred-year-old traditions,” said Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga.
It is noted that the unique documents collected in the e-archive:
- testify to the burden of Ukrainian diplomatic traditions, the contribution of Ukrainian diplomats to the development of international relations;
- demonstrate the virtue of Ukraine in international relations and the century-old diplomatic and interpersonal ties of Ukraine with our partners.
The diplomatic archive is already available at the link: https://earchive.mfa.gov.ua/
