The St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv, which was damaged as a result of Russian shelling, will be restored according to the authentic plans of the authors of 1899-1909.
The Ministry of Culture reported this on December 21.
The ministry noted that in 1979-1981, the Soviet authorities changed structural and decorative elements, including stained glass, and adapted the building into a concert hall.
The Church of St. Nicholas survived two world wars and is now experiencing the consequences of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
As a result of the Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital, windows were broken in a unique architectural monument of national importance, and stained glass roses were damaged.
