A series of explosions rocked Sochi more than an hour ago. The reason for this is allegedly a UAV attack, Russian Telegram channels report.
SHOT channel subscribers claim that starting at 5:50 local time they heard from 7 to 10 explosions in Lazarevskoye. They said their “windows were shaking and car alarms were going off.” Residents of Tuapse also wrote about loud sounds.
According to preliminary data, an air defense system against drones allegedly crashed in the Black Sea.
ASTRA channel cited information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which stated that 19 drones were shot down.
“9 were shot down in the territory of the Belgorod region, 5 in the territory of the Voronezh region, 3 in the Black Sea and one each in the territories of the Kursk region and the Krasnodar region,” the message said.
There is no information yet about the consequences of the drone attack.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense acknowledged an attack on the Kamensky Chemical Plant in the Rostov region. The Russians announced an attack with ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles.
