Air defense shot down five Iskanders over Kyiv

The Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups.

On Friday night and in the morning, Russia attacked Ukraine with Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Shahed-type attack drones and other types of drones. Most of the targets were destroyed by air defense, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on December 20.

So, at night the enemy hit an Iskander-M missile from the Rostov region, which was controlled by an X-59/69 aircraft from the airspace of the Kursk region and 65 drones from the areas of the cities of Russia of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

This attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups.

“At 09:30, it was confirmed that 40 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and other types of drones were shot down in Kursk, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkassy, ​​​​Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions,” the message . said.

Also, due to the active opposition of the Defense Forces, 20 enemy simulator drones disappeared from the location (this usually happens under the influence of electronic warfare – ed.).

As a result of a night missile and drone strike, private homes, apartment buildings, medical institutions, warehouses and farms were hit in Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kyiv and Kharkov regions.

And in the morning, the Russians attacked Kyiv with five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles. The launches were carried out from the Voronezh and Bryansk regions. All missiles were destroyed.

We remind you that as a result of the fall of Russian missiles in Kyiv, one person died and nine others were injured. Damage and destruction was caused in several areas of the capital.
