Denmark has allocated a new package of military assistance to Ukraine.
The package will include weapons and equipment worth 2.1 billion crowns (about 280 million euros). The money will be used to strengthen Ukrainian air defenses, as well as exploit the Ukrainian F-16 capabilities. This is stated in a message published on the Danish government website.
One of Ukraine’s most pressing needs right now is the ability to defend itself against Russian airstrikes. That’s why we’re prioritizing greater air defense support. The package also contains a financial contribution to the exploitation of Ukraine’s combat aviation capabilities, said Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Also in the package that the defense forces will receive will be several CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
This is already the 23rd aid package for Ukraine transferred by the Danish government. In total, from 2023 to 2028, Denmark has pledged DKK 64.8 billion for military support to Ukraine, implemented through a special Ukrainian fund. Of these, more than 50 billion crowns have already been spent or pledged.
Let us remind you that on December 11, the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament approved the allocation of $587 million. for military assistance to Ukraine. These funds are used for “ammunition, training and other funds” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another approximately 35 million dollars. will be transferred for humanitarian demining and strengthening cyber resilience in Ukraine.
