The shooting took place in the parliament building of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia (part of Georgia, de facto controlled by Russia). Golandzia died from her injuries, the local health ministry said.
An investigative team arrived at the scene of the incident.
Earlier, anti-Russian protests broke out in Abkhazia. Thousands of opponents of signing an investment agreement with Russia came to the parliament building.
