The deceased Vakhtang Golandziya tried to separate the two deputies Kan Kvarchia and Adgur Kharazia, who started shooting with a pistol.
The shooting took place in the parliament building of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia (part of Georgia, de facto controlled by Russia). “During the meeting, a dispute arose between Adgur Kharazia and Kan Kvarchia, as a result of which Adgur took out a pistol and started shooting at Kan. The deceased Vakhtang Golandzia tried to separate them,” the publication record.
Golandzia died from her injuries, the local health ministry said.
An investigative team arrived at the scene of the incident.
Earlier, anti-Russian protests broke out in Abkhazia. Thousands of opponents of signing an investment agreement with Russia came to the parliament building.
