On December 18, the Verkhovna Rada generally adopted changes to the law “On Military Duty and Military Service” on the creation and operation of the Unified State Register of Military Personnel and other laws of Ukraine to improve the procedure for maintaining military records No. 12066.
The bill was supported by 254 deputies.
Its main provisions are:
- creation of a registry to modernize military records and introduce electronic services for military personnel and their families.
- assignment of Military ID – a unique electronic identifier for automating data in the field of defense, receiving benefits and social services.
- integration of the registry with the electronic health system to simplify the exchange of data on conscripts and reservists.
- military personnel will be able to access special discounts, loyalty programs and new services, in particular through the Army+ platform.
At the same time, the law provides for the storage of information for 70 years.
The idea of creating such a registry was already considered in Project No. 10062, but was withdrawn due to security risks associated with the sensitivity of information about military personnel.
