Forestry, forensic medical institutions and industrial enterprises of Ukraine are at risk.
Throughout November and December, the Ukrainian government’s computer emergency response team CERT-UA documented a series of cyber attacks carried out by the hacker group UAC-009. This was reported by the press service of the State Special Communications Service on Monday, December 16.
“During 2022-2023, the aforementioned group received unauthorized remote access to several dozen computers in Ukraine. This time, government organizations, in particular forestry departments, forensic institutions and industrial enterprises, are at risk,” the report said.
It is noted that attackers continue to use traditional methods of penetrating information systems: phishing emails with harmful attachments. However, attack methods and tools are constantly being improved.
Let’s recall that earlier hackers of the UAC-0185 group tried to attack the enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
In October, enemy hackers carried out a massive cyberattack against Ukraine, targeting local governments.
