Since 2022, Ukrainian soldiers have sent 1,964 complaints against military units to the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
In particular, in 2022, the military sent 435 appeals to the Ombudsman, of which in 136 military units were identified as the violating authority. And in 2023, Dmitry Lubinets received 2 thousand 779 letters from the military, including 792 complaints about units. This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda with reference to the response to a request from the Ombudsman Secretariat.
And over the 11 months of this year, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine appealed to the Ombudsman 3 thousand 807 times, of which 1 thousand 36 complained about military units.
It is noted that in the first half of the year, the Ombudsman received almost twice as many requests from the military (in which units were identified as the violating authority) than during the same period in 2023.
Let us remind you that Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said that men who are citizens of Ukraine can obtain a passport only if they have a military registration document. This applies to both those within the country and those abroad. .
