The aggressor country of the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with almost fifty drones.
On the night of December 16, the Russians launched 49 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones from Bryansk and Orel. Enemy targets were destroyed by anti-aircraft missile forces and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine. Electronic warfare units were also involved in repelling the attack. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Telegram.
As of 8:30, it was confirmed that 27 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones had been shot down in Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkassy, Khmelnytsky, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk regions. Another 19 enemy drones did not reach their targets because they were lost in location. Three UAVs are still in the air.
The Air Force said that no hits were recorded, and there was no information about damage or casualties.
Let us recall that on the night of December 15, the aggressor country attacked Ukraine with an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile and 108 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones. 56 Russian drones were shot down, and another 49 enemy drones were lost. Three more UAVs returned to Russia.
