The governor called the incident the latest of several reported drone flights in the state since mid-November.
The US temporarily closed the runways at Stewart Airport near New York after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the discovery of a drone near the airfield. ABC reported this on Saturday, December 14.
The closure lasted about an hour, but flights were not disrupted, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said.
Meanwhile, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s incident is the latest in a series of similar cases occurring in the state since mid-November. He expressed his dissatisfaction and called on the federal government to take more action.
“This has gone too far,” he said, calling on the New York State Intelligence Center to investigate the drone incidents.
As reported, the United States has been experiencing an invasion of mysterious drones flying over several states for almost a month now. Current authorities deny the foreign origin of the UAVs and say they pose no threat, although they do not explain their origin. President-elect Donald Trump has called for the downing of these drones.
We remind you that in Germany flights of unknown drones were recorded in an industrial zone in Schleswig-Holstein. According to the media, they may have been launched by Russian agents.
