A minibus driver tried to smuggle onions, potatoes and eight offenders in the trunk abroad.
On December 14, the State Tax Service reported that the Mercedes Sprinter, driven by a man, was stopped at one of the control posts by border guards of the “Forks” department of the Mukachevo detachment. A 63-year-old resident of Transcarpathia claimed that he transports nothing except vegetables.
However, during the inspection it turned out that evaders from different regions of Ukraine were hiding behind the double wall.
As it turned out, eight men fit behind the wall: one resident of the Kherson region, one resident of the Zhytomyr region and two residents of the Kiev region, Transcarpathia and Lviv region. All eight planned to “visit” Hungary outside the checkpoints in the future.
The driver and his “passengers” were detained.
The actions of the Ukrainian show signs of a crime under Art. 332 (illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
While the detachment’s operatives are finding out all the details of organizing the “trip” of the Ukrainians.
