US President-elect Donald Trump’s team is in talks with the White House and Ukrainian officials on ways to end the war with Russia, reports NBC News.
Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, has had several conversations with his successor, Mike Waltz. They discussed the current information, but did not yet know the strategy for ending the war or securing a ceasefire, the media said.
“Trump is very serious about getting a ceasefire on day one,” one of the sources said.
The publication’s interlocutors say that recent contacts between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Trump, as well as their advisers, have been constructive.
Apparently, Trump understands that the Ukrainians are “not an obstacle to peace” the problem is in the position of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
