The City of London has approved the construction of a 74-storey office tower that will match the height of The Shard, the tallest building in the UK and Western Europe, reports the Financial Times.
It was noted that the construction of a skyscraper called 1 Undershaft was put on hold after it was opposed by neighbours, including the head of Lloyd’s of London insurance market, Bruce Carnegie-Brown, who said the new building would occupy St Helens Square, “removes the The city is a very important gathering place.”

The project includes a planted area on the 11th floor, an observation deck on the upper level, as well as a children’s educational center, which will be organized jointly with the Museum of London.
The main shareholder of Aroland Holdings is Singaporean billionaire Kuok Khun Gong, chief executive of food group Wilmar International, one of the largest owners of oil palm plantations in the world.
Earlier it was reported that lightning struck the tallest skyscraper in the world – the Burj Khalifa, which has 163 floors.
