The Russian Federation lost more tanks in the battle for Pokrovsk than any European country in its army, and losses among enemy personnel in this direction exceed the number of the British army.
Journalist and former Forbes Ukraine columnist Vladimir Datsenko wrote about this on the X network.
In the battles near Pokrovsk, Russia’s losses are close to the size of the entire Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces as of 2022, which was preparing for war with NATO. And this is about 60% of the forces with which Russia planned to seize Ukraine in three days in 2022.
In October 2023, he identified the attack on Pokrovsk as the main axis of his offensive campaign. It is clear that Putin is focused on the goal of completely capturing the Donetsk region as his highest priority goal in the coming years. But this offensive led to colossal losses.
In the first few weeks of the offensive, Russian losses were estimated at 13,000 soldiers. In February 2024, Russian losses were estimated at 47,000 soldiers killed and wounded. Subsequently, the dynamics of battles in this direction did not decrease.
With such dynamics, Russia’s total losses over 13 months of fighting in the Pokrovsky direction amount to about 150 thousand soldiers killed and wounded. This is more than Russia’s losses in the battles for Bakhmut (100 thousand).
Only visually confirmed losses of the Russian army during 13 months of fighting in the Pokrovsky direction amount to 1,800 weapons. The real losses are even greater.
The number of Russian casualties in the Battle of Pokrovsk is close to the number of the Western Military District as of 2022, which included three armies: the 1st Tank, 6th and 20th Combined Arms Armies.
It’s hard to believe, but the Russian losses of armored vehicles near Pokrovsk are greater than the losses of the German army in the Battle of Stalingrad.
13/ For every kilometer of occupied territory in this direction, Russia will lose 10-15 times more resources than in all directions. And this tests to Putin’s mad obsession to show everyone that the Russian army does no stop, but continues to advance https://t.co/qm0BqJwTUN

The Battle of Pokrovsk may become one of the largest offensive operations in history in terms of the number of armored vehicles lost.
For every kilometer of occupied territory in this direction, Russia loses 10-15 times more resources than in all other directions.
Probably, in the coming months we will see no less brutal battles and frontal attacks by the Russian army. The culmination of these months will be the Pokrovsk offensive operation. An offensive in which Russia will lose three armies to further the ambitions of its dictator.
