Fundamental changes are starting in the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will influence the situation at the front in favor of Ukraine.
This transformation will cover recruiting and military training, the latest technologies and battle management, digitalization of processes in the army, transformation of management, logistics and social support for the military.
The beginning of these changes was announced by the Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Mikhail Drapaty, at the headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on Thursday, December 12:
The ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must become high-tech, flexible and adaptive. Elite! People, technology and transparent management are our focus,” emphasized Major General Mikhail Drapaty.
He added that the announced changes have the full support of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and will be implemented jointly with the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense and civil society: volunteers and charitable foundations.
What and how exactly will change in the most structural part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, what are the Ground Forces
Military training: We are talking about reforming training programs and centers, as well as using modern simulators and other latest technologies in training. Soldier training must be better adapted to the needs of the front.
The skills and abilities of our base – the infantryman – should be as applied and practical as possible, without unnecessary lyricism, and the main carriers of this knowledge will be the sergeant corps with combat experience. The emphasis in these changes will be on the principles of military leadership and knowledge of technology. Without such skills, it is impossible to establish control over the chaos of battle, and now this is one of the main goals of changing the situation at the front, explains Mikhail Drapaty.
Recruiting and social support: A transparent recruitment model with zero tolerance for corruption will be introduced in the Army. At the same time, the approach to social support for servicemen will change. He must feel constantly taken care of: from the first day of service to employment in civilian life after dismissal.
Technologies: Ukrainian infantryman must have a technological advantage over the enemy on the battlefield
Optimization of management processes
We need “agility and efficiency” in the administrative apparatus, the basis for this will be organizational changes and digitalization.
Drapatiy assures that the first areas to experience management changes will be logistics and military training. After all, they are the ones who decide the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army.
