Russia and China voted against this document, again showing their close ties.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna approved Ukraine’s resolution on energy infrastructure security. Russia and China voted against, the editor said Radio Liberty in Europe Rikard Jozwiak on the social network X on Thursday, December 12th.
“The IAEA Board of Governors just approved a resolution on energy infrastructure security,” he wrote.
According to Jozwiak, 22 member states voted for the resolution, two opposed, and 10 abstained.
“The text was drafted to avoid direct mention of Russia in order to gain broad support, including from China. However, Russia and China voted against it, showing a close connection,” said Jozwiak.
We remind you that on December 4 it became known that Ukraine is convening an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA. At this event they planned to discuss Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy.
And the day before it became known that the IAEA Board of Governors would consider a Russian drone strike on an agency mission vehicle on the road to the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
