The legalization of cryptocurrency in Ukraine may take place as early as the first quarter of 2025.
The parliamentary working group is already completing the preparation of the relevant bill for the first reading. The text of the document, being developed jointly with the NBU and the International Monetary Fund, will be ready after the New Year. Voting is planned in the first quarter of next year. The head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev, stated this at the forum “Prospects for investment within the country,” reports “Economic Truth”.
The People’s Deputy emphasized that one should not expect tax benefits for cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency will be taxed according to the securities model – profits will be taxed when withdrawing assets into currency.
