Air defense remains Ukraine’s priority request to partners as the Russians continue to strike Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on a daily basis.
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky spoke with the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez. One of the topics of discussion was Ukraine’s need for additional air defense systems. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Wednesday, December 11.
“The President spoke about the need for additional air defense systems against the backdrop of Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector,” OP clarified.
The Ukrainian head of state also thanked Spain for the previously provided military and humanitarian aid, the implementation of the security agreement, as well as the country’s contribution to strengthening the air defense in Ukraine.
The department added that a separate subject of the negotiations is the European integration of Ukraine.
The leaders also agreed on a meeting to take place in the near future.
President Vladimir Zelensky, who responded to the Russian missile attack on Zaporozhye, noted the need for additional air defense systems and more intensive international cooperation for the security of Ukraine.
The German government is allocating 70 million euros for small thermal power plants, boilers, generators and solar power plants and other systems in Ukraine so that the state can more confidently go through the winter in the face of attacks of Russia in the energy sector. Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this on Wednesday, December 11, in his speech at the opening of the German-Ukrainian economic forum in Berlin.
