The issue of the age of those mobilized was raised in meetings with top EU officials. This is an unacceptable position for Ukraine.

In the negotiations with the European Union, the issues of the age of mobilization in Ukraine were raised. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna, reports Ukrinform on Wednesday, December 11th.

“This question was raised from the point of view of the fact that it is really in the public discourse. But I am glad that this question was raised, because we have a very clear answer. We cannot accept this criticism, because there neither a planning system nor systems for training and equipping the Ukrainian brigades,” he said.

Stefanyshyn noted that due to the fact that there was no such planning on the part of the allies, the failure could not be transferred to the age of mobilization in Ukraine.

“We had this discussion and I also see that the EU can play a role in the training of the Ukrainian military,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.

Let’s recall that the previous spokesman of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, said that if Ukraine lowers the age of mobilization to 18 years, the United States will provide equipment to recruits.

President Vladimir Zelensky emphasized that the authorities are currently not preparing to lower the age of mobilization.
