The head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, after an hour-long conversation with Vladimir Putin, spoke about “the most dangerous period of the war.”
These are the most dangerous weeks of the Russian-Ukrainian war. We are taking all possible diplomatic steps in favor of a ceasefire and peace negotiations, the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
According to Russian propagandists, the Kremlin dictator discussed Ukraine and economic cooperation with one of his main supporters in Europe. Orban “expressed interest in facilitating a joint search for ways to resolve the crisis politically and diplomatically,” in particular “taking into account his contacts with a number of Western leaders.”
Putin, as RosSMI wrote, outlined his assessment of the development of the situation and “the destructive line of the Kyiv regime, which continues to exclude the possibility of a peaceful settlement.”
Orban initiated the call with Putin after his meeting with Trump and his advisers at Mar-a-Lago.
The Kremlin reported that they were talking, in particular, about Ukraine – the Hungarian Prime Minister was allegedly “interested in finding a diplomatic resolution to the crisis.” In July, Orban flew to see Putin in Moscow after a visit to Kyiv.
