After the fall of the regime of the dictator Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the transfer of power from the current government to the opposition forces continues.
The leader of the Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Abu Mohammed al-Julani, who led the rebel offensive in Syria, said the West had no reason to fear an opposition victory. He said his group does not seek to further develop the conflict. He said this on Tuesday, December 10, in a commentary on Sky News.
“The fears of Western countries are unnecessary,” he said.
Abu Mohammed al-Julani assured that he is working hard to restore stability in Syria, adding that the local population is tired of years of war.
“The country is now moving towards development and reconstruction. It is moving towards stability. The people are tired of war. Therefore, the country is not ready for another war and will not engage in another. ,” said al-Julani .
Abu Mohammed al-Julani also praised the efforts of his fighters, who he claimed controlled Syria without outside support or interference.
Let’s remember that on December 8, rebel forces in Damascus declared the capital “free” from President Bashar al-Assad, who fled to Russia. They said government institutions would remain under the administration of the former prime minister until the formal transfer of power.
